I rented a bungalow from Henk. The contract didn't mention anywhere that I would have to pay € 100,- for the final cleaning (despite him delivering me the property dirty and uncleaned). I've been trying to reach him for five months to get this money back, which he withheld without reason. I had to go to his office because, as I see it, this isn't the first time; he never picks up the phone. He told me that I had given him a dirty house because they had to clean it, and I explained that if you give me a dirty house, I don't return it spotless, which is only logical. Furthermore, he didn't say anything about the fact that the house was dirty (because it wasn't) or that a part of my deposit would be withheld when he came to pick up the keys on the last day of the contract. After more than five months, I'm still waiting for a response from this man.
In het vorige huis waar ik verbleef, brachten ze me extra kosten in rekening voor de eindschoonmaak, en de man weigert dat terug te betalen (in het contract staat niets over de eindschoonmaak). Hij negeert me ook. Ik ben een maand geleden naar zijn kantoor gegaan om een terugbetaling te vragen, en hij zei dat hij met de eigenaar zou praten, maar ik wacht nog steeds.

My home sold for a lot of money through him, never received a fundapagina, never an advertisement text to approve, never had a discussion about the selling price etc. etc. A businessman with little eye for the customer and lots of eye for the cents. Henk sold my apartment in Harderwijk. This was a top floor apartment in a shopping center. The sale went smoothly and the communication was very good. Henk took time to explain things and to support me with the paper work.

Real estate agent, who rents out holiday homes and at the final settlement takes off with your (sizeable) deposit by charging costs for cleaning of the very neatly handed over property (which is also said at handover), absurdly high costs for household waste, and costs for vague defects that according to the rental contract are the landlord's responsibility! If you then ask for justification, you don't get it, and you can blow your deposit.
