I have had a very unpleasant experience with this realtor. The owner, Eric van de Heuvel, discriminated against me and gave negative advice based on that. Mr. Van den Heuvel was very unfriendly in his communication, bordering on rude. Very arrogant and definitely not recommended. It has since been learned that at least one person has had a similar experience with the same gentleman. (Update June 3, 2025: The original text has been marginally adjusted following a letter from Mr. Van den Heuvel's lawyer and the real estate agency. The truth can walk naked through the streets, but lies must dress up well.)

Bij het uitchecken uit het gehuurde appartement schreeuwde Eric, de directeur van Mauritshuis, tegen me en stampte hij met zijn voeten. Hij beledigde mijn man ook nog eens in een e-mail. Mogelijk racistisch en seksistisch. Absoluut onprofessioneel. Ik zou minsterren geven als dat mogelijk was.

Avoid if you can. Unprofessional, rude, unreliable. Poor communication that will ultimately cost you money. They take no responsibility for their mistakes. The worst experience ever.

Very bad experiences with this office, which improperly profits from the high number of people looking for housing. Asking an irresponsibly high rent and then also presenting a much too high number of square meters with nice talk, about 24% more than reality. Also various equipment turned out to be quite outdated during the rental period. We were too trusting, naive. Yes, very stupid, hence this reaction. Those involved are making significant profits if you, as a potential tenant, have nowhere else to go. Fortunately, we found something else reasonably on time.

In this respect, ‘t Mauritshuis distinguishes itself enormously from the rest of the market: the (prospective) tenant stands alongside the landlord at ‘t Mauritshuis in a shared first place and that is commendable. Not professional and very poor communication. They also do not update their advertisements on the websites of Funda or Pararius. Despite multiple e-mails and phone conversations, their response is lukewarm. I have never received answers to my questions. And forget about the paid deposit. Very disappointing remarks. It seems like they do not like to work with expats. Not recommended for expats.

Poor communication, terrible handling and when we expressed a complaint and frustration, they placed us on a blacklist and called the owner to tell him that he should not rent to us. We contacted the owner to file a complaint, he promised to handle it and went on vacation immediately! This kind of businesses should not exist in modern society, stay away from them.

Mauritshuis was exceptional in their service. They did an excellent screening of apartments and only showed top quality on the market. They were very quick, responded promptly, and everything was done in my best interest. I can wholeheartedly recommend them!
