We sold our home through SEM Makelaars. We are happy with the guidance provided by the real estate agent. Not only were our wishes listened to, but something was actually done about it. And the other way around, we received tips and feedback on how we could approach some things differently. All of this led to a very pleasant collaboration and a good feeling when making such a big decision as selling your house.

On its own a good first contact for an appraisal, however more steps needed to be taken. Then it turned out that the appraisal would cost more effort, and I was quickly dismissed. Half an hour before the appraisal, the appointment was cancelled because one document was missing, while the documents had already been sent more than a week earlier for validation (without any response). Besides having a busy job, making time to be at home, only to then be quickly dismissed shortly before. For me, another appraiser!

Our journey through the Watergraafsmeer has taken a remarkable turn in recent years. In 2010, we started in an apartment at Johannes van de Waalstraat. A lovely 1930s home with dormer windows and a roof terrace, then it started to itch and we looked for something bigger. In 2015, we moved to a more spacious apartment on James Wattstraat, a shell-plus property with, in estate agent's terms, potential; much larger due to the huge attic. But... we really wanted a ground floor home with a garden, as a condition, in our favorite neighborhood the Watergraafsmeer. Eventually, we descended to the Middenweg, where we found our new home in a double lower house with a beautiful garden. But the adventure didn't stop there. We are now embarking on a new adventure and have bought a beautiful townhouse, also on the Middenweg. Another project but now an entire house with a huge garden. This will first be thoroughly renovated before we can move in. Each of these houses marked a specific phase in our lives and that of our family. What all four houses have in common is that we were assisted by one estate agent for both the purchase and sale. This professional played a crucial role in realizing our dream homes. The last house came at the perfect moment in our lives. We quickly realized that this house would attract a lot of interest, which meant we had to act quickly to fulfill our wish. This kind lady, in my opinion, should have been a teacher at primary school. She treated me as if I hadn't submitted my homework to her.
