Wij hebben een hele goede ervaring gehad met HouseHunting Utrecht, en in het bijzonder met Bas. Wij hebben ons huis in de binnenstad voor een half jaar verhuurd en zowel het verhuur- als beheerproces bij hen ondergebracht. Als ik vooraf alleen de online reviews had gelezen, had ik misschien getwijfeld. Gelukkig heb ik dat niet gedaan en ben ik afgegaan op referenties van andere huiseigenaren. Alles werd uitstekend geregeld: snel, duidelijk en professioneel. We kregen altijd binnen een dag reactie, met heldere uitleg. Ook onze huurders uit Amerika waren erg tevreden over het hele proces en de samenwerking. We hebben bewust enkele andere potentiële huurders moeten afzeggen wat natuurlijk nooit leuk is maar voor ons was het belangrijk om de beste match te vinden, zowel financieel als qua persoon en samenstelling voor ons huis. Dat proces werd goed begeleid. Zowel de check-in als check-out waren zeer zorgvuldig uitgevoerd. Alles was goed vastgelegd en geregeld, waardoor wij gedurende de hele verhuurperiode echt geen zorgen hebben gehad. En ik ben iemand die normaal gesproken juist veel op details let en risico’s probeert te vermijden. Het was onze eerste keer verhuren op deze manier, maar ik zou het zo weer doen. Wat mij opvalt als ik de negatieve reviews lees, is dat veel daarvan lijken voort te komen uit teleurstelling bij huurders (bijvoorbeeld na afwijzing), of uit verwachtingen die niet helemaal aansluiten bij hoe het proces werkt. Ik zie ook een duidelijk verschil tussen ervaringen van huurders en verhuurders. Juist omdat mijn ervaring zo positief was, terwijl de reviews gemengd zijn, wilde ik dit graag delen als tegenwicht vanuit mijn eigen, echte ervaring als verhuurder. Kortom: voor verhuurders die zekerheid en ontzorging zoeken, kan ik HouseHunting Utrecht zeker aanbevelen.

Vertrouw dit bureau niet! Ik heb een zeer teleurstellende en stressvolle ervaring gehad met HouseHunting in Utrecht. Ik had een aanvraag ingediend voor een appartement en werd uitgenodigd voor een bezichtiging, wat aanvankelijk veelbelovend leek. Na de bezichtiging werd mij gevraagd om uitgebreide persoonlijke en financiële informatie te verstrekken. Dit omvatte mijn eigen bankgegevens en de financiële gegevens van mijn ouders, aangezien zij mijn borgstellers zijn. Ik heb alles verstrekt wat gevraagd werd, in de overtuiging dat het proces zou verlopen. Kort daarna werd mij meegedeeld dat de verhuurder mij als huurder had geaccepteerd. Ik ontving een contract en stond op het punt dit te ondertekenen. Echter, een paar uur nadat ik het contract had ontvangen, kreeg ik plotseling te horen dat de verhuurder niet verder wilde gaan omdat mijn informatie "onbetrouwbaar" was, zonder duidelijke of concrete uitleg. Ik bood direct aan om aanvullende documenten of verduidelijkingen te verstrekken om eventuele problemen op te lossen, maar dit werd niet geaccepteerd. Naar mijn mening heeft hij waarschijnlijk een andere huurder gevonden die hem beter beviel en heeft hij besloten om mij te laten vallen. Op dat moment had ik al serieuze stappen ondernomen op basis van hun bevestiging. Mijn ouders, die in Brazilië wonen, hadden vluchten geboekt om naar Nederland te komen en me te helpen verhuizen. Die vluchten moesten echter geannuleerd worden, met financieel verlies tot gevolg. Ik had ook al met mijn huidige huisbaas gesproken over het beëindigen van mijn contract, waardoor ik in een zeer onzekere woonsituatie terechtkwam. Wat de situatie nog erger maakte, is dat de communicatie na dit incident volledig stopte. Ze beloofden me te helpen met andere bezichtigingen, omdat ze me in de steek hadden gelaten. Sindsdien heb ik op verschillende andere appartementen gesolliciteerd die via House Hunting werden aangeboden, meerdere keren geprobeerd contact met hen op te nemen en zelfs de makelaar die me eerder hielp een bericht gestuurd. Ik krijg geen reacties, e-mails of bezichtigingen meer. Het voelt alsof ik genegeerd of geblokkeerd word, zonder enige uitleg. Ik begrijp dat contracten pas rechtsgeldig zijn na ondertekening, maar de manier waarop dit proces is afgehandeld, miste transparantie, zorgvuldigheid en verantwoordelijkheid. Wanneer mensen te maken hebben met huisvesting, visa, borgstellingen en internationale familiereizen, hebben deze beslissingen serieuze gevolgen in de praktijk. Ik raad iedereen ten zeerste aan om ZEER voorzichtig te zijn, vooral bij het delen van gevoelige persoonlijke en financiële informatie of bij het nemen van belangrijke levensbeslissingen op basis van mondelinge of schriftelijke bevestigingen voordat een contract met dit bureau is getekend. Of nog beter: vermijd ze gewoon.

Rick is the worst real estate agent ever! And a really unpleasant person. I can't believe I didn't leave a review earlier. This man tried to rip off both me and my landlord at the time. Failed to show up for appointments and made me take the blame. Cost me €1000's to get rid of this creepy guy. Please, find someone else!! My (dear) landlord also knew better than to get involved with this creep. He hadn't rented out his apartment against all promises.

Rick de Jong is a terrible guy. Success with it

One-sided communication: difficult to reach, late for appointments, do not answer your questions, not via email and not via phone. For landlords maybe a good party, for tenants unfortunately not.

I applied for several apartments and received an email stating that I am not qualified for this. Is this because I am not a Dutch national? I have a PhD and work in AI. I am better qualified than your staff.

Never rent out your property through this agency. First, they had Ewout and his wife employed who, at a certain point, engaged in dubious practices and left for Curaçao under a cloud. Then Rick took over from Ewout, who has absolutely no understanding of the profession. They distance themselves from Ewout's practices and want to take absolutely no responsibility for it, as if it had become a completely new company with a new owner. It remains Househunting, only with different employees.

I travelled from Belgium to Utrecht to visit this real estate office, so that I could rent an apartment for a longer period from August. On Google Street View it looked open and there were signs with the logo. But when I arrived at the office, the door was closed and there was no doorbell with the text 'House Hunt'. I tried to call, but nobody answered. Disappointing. Warning: there is no help on site!

I have sent multiple e-mails, but have not received a response. I am beginning to suspect that it is a scam.

Terrible service. Our house was seriously damaged and because these people are afraid of the tenants' association, they refused to use the deposit for our damage. They don't care what happens to your house. In the first 1 year that we rented out our house, we had more than 5000 euros in damage (excluding the damage to the walls and windows). See the photo: they think this is acceptable wear for a costly setup after 1 year of use!! AVOID AVOID AVOID if you are a landlord. Ps: it's not just about an oil stain, but more than 90% of the glass surface has scratches. Our custom-made blinds are also damaged and need to be replaced.

Ik heb alle e-mails hierover en het is nooit zo geweest. Dus, naast mijn huur en de diensten, moest ik nog twee diensten bijbetalen die bijna 200 euro per maand kostten. Uiteindelijk kon ik het appartement verlaten en volgens het contract zou ik mijn borg na maximaal een maand terugkrijgen. De dag brak aan, en één van hen liet zelfs weten dat het vertraagd was. Ik heb dagelijks e-mails gestuurd naar iedereen binnen het bedrijf, en pas nadat een vriend hen belde, reageerden ze met de belofte dat ik mijn borg zou ontvangen. Maar dat is niet gebeurd. Het laatste wat ze zeiden was dat de verhuurder de borg rechtstreeks moest betalen; ik heb nooit contact gehad met de verhuurder, terwijl het makelaarskantoor zogenaamd mijn contactpersoon was. Tot nu toe heeft niemand gereageerd op mijn e-mails, telefoontjes of WhatsApp-berichten. Ik heb bewijs van alles wat ik in deze recensie noem, mocht iemand reageren met de bewering dat dit niet waar is. Ik zou je absoluut afraden om bij deze oplichters te huren.

Mafia-like practice. The apartment was left cleaner and tidier than found. And after (much too late) receiving the deposit back, €100 was deducted based on ‘bed linen’ for which payment had already been made at the time of signing the contract before the start of the rental period. During the handover of the property, I was told nothing about these costs and instead it was said how neat and clean the property looked. A signature was obtained and everything seemed okay. Not only was money withheld from my deposit due to the bed linen, but also based on so-called ‘limescale’ in the bathroom. While I always kept the entire house extremely clean. Every week I cleaned everything thoroughly again. It should be clear that House Hunting uses fabrications to deduct from the deposit as an extra revenue model. I have heard the same from fellow tenants. They even filed a lawsuit due to improper treatment.

Very dissatisfied with the provided service: repeatedly it appears that the administration is not in order (e.g., regarding the deposit) and they are very slow to respond via email. From my perspective, therefore not recommended.

There was a hole behind the fridge which caused mice to get into the apartment causing people to get ill, the mice could be heard running through the walls and roof of the apartment in the middle of the night. When we talked to Rick De Jong he started to deny responsibility in anyway and blaming the tenants. He said that he would deduct money from the deposit and that any problems of pest are tenants responsibility. He returned a partial amount of the deposit without even saying anything and without solving any problems, real pathetic character. He also shows up with potential tenants to the house without announcement and takes these potential tenants into the house with shoes on walking around, something which is illegal in the Netherlands. Deze makelaar verdient geen sterren, want ze zijn duidelijk partijdig voor de verhuurders... Ze reageren niet op e-mails, telefoontjes of brieven. Het is de slechtste makelaar waar ik ooit mee te maken heb gehad. Ik zou ze absoluut afraden. Ze hebben bijna de helft van onze borg ingehouden zonder duidelijke uitleg... De woning waarin we trokken was niet schoon en ze vertelden ons dat ze ongeveer €900 aan schoonmaakkosten hadden ingehouden!!! Het zijn oplichters!! Ik laat dit niet zomaar gebeuren en ga mijn geld terugvragen.

If you are the type of house hunter who doesn't like to be kept informed, waits weeks and especially doesn't ask too much, then you are their perfect tenant! One word: Awful

As an expat, I had a great experience with HouseHunting Utrecht. They showed us several houses in and around Utrecht until we found the right one within our budget. Also no extra costs or registrations. The responses could have been slightly faster, but it certainly wasn't unusual. All in all, a great experience.

Een woning zoeken in Nederland, en met name in Utrecht, is een nachtmerrie. (Mocht je het nog niet weten, dan weet je het nu). HouseHunting Utrecht heeft me geholpen mijn droomhuis te vinden! Anna en Ewout waren allebei fantastisch, uiterst professioneel, behulpzaam en reageerden snel. Als je denkt dat dit de standaard is voor elk verhuurbedrijf, dan heb je het mis. Bij HouseHunting Utrecht hoef je geen betaalde abonnementen af ​​te sluiten om te reageren, word je niet samen met meer dan tien anderen uitgenodigd voor bezichtigingen (met een zeer kleine kans op de woning) en geef je geen geld uit aan bezichtigingen, waar je vervolgens geen interesse meer in toont en nooit meer iets van hoort. Ik raad zeker aan om contact met hen op te nemen als je op zoek bent naar een huurwoning, vooral als je expat bent.

We had our house sublet for 6 months through House Hunting Utrecht. For a good price, they took photos, put the house online on several sites, and advised us on the hows and whats of renting out your house. The viewings were also well organized by House Hunting. We found a suitable tenant within two weeks, and all contractual arrangements went very quickly and smoothly. This gave us a carefree six months. Definitely recommended if you want to sublet your house for a while!

Unfortunately, as a housing seeker, I have had no good experience with HH Utrecht. Some aspects were positive, but ultimately, given the contacts with this real estate agency, it seemed to me that their main goal was to close the deal and then disappear. I never had the feeling that service or the interests of the tenant(s) were a priority; their own interest was the highest priority.
