As a tenant, I would look for another property and definitely not do business with them. The property is rented to you through them; they only act as an intermediary where they draw up the rental agreement, you pay the first rent to them, and a (photo) report was made during key handover without the presence of the new tenant regarding the condition of the property. Then you hear nothing more until you want to terminate the lease. Apparently, it is expected that you conduct correspondence about this with them and you will be confronted with all sorts of procedures that do not describe anywhere how you should leave the property. Nothing about this is stated in the rental agreement. Then their friendliness suddenly disappears completely, although they themselves are not mentioned anywhere in the rental agreement as stakeholders. They send emails full of threats without first hearing both sides and if a less friendly reaction follows, they are then surprised. Empty statements such as that the termination of the lease was not done on time because the landlord decides not to pick up the registered letter and that an extra month's rent should therefore be paid. Luckily I hadn’t paid the last month's rent yet, because I quickly noticed that this would become a discussion where you, as a tenant, always get the short end of the stick, because you can whistle for the return of the security deposit. I terminated the lease registered by post and also registered by email so they had no leg to stand on. I would therefore advise Lighthouse Property to quickly return to school with regard to all current case law on rental agreements and advise them to delete the clauses and conditions invented by themselves, as these are not included anywhere in the rental agreement and have long been condemned by judges as unreasonable disadvantageous terms.

We used Lighthouse to find a rental apartment when we first moved to the Netherlands and were very impressed by their quick response and professionalism. They also helped us with the purchase of a house a year later and gave us great advice along the way to find the perfect home. We were so satisfied with Lighthouse that we called them again when it was time to sell our house... it wasn't only sold quickly, but also much higher than the asking price. Very moderate experience with this company. You pay 1 month's rent to them for all the work they do. You get very little back, I can tell you. The owner speaks broken Dutch and via email it’s complete gibberish. At one point I even received data from other people who had offered their property through them, very sloppy! Furthermore, you want a rental company to inform you well about the tenant and listen to all your wishes. They do listen, but then they don't honor the agreements made. I would not recommend this rental company to anyone! Look for a better option. (the name in the title is to remain anonymous)

We were very satisfied with the service of Lighthouse Property. We live abroad and when our tenants broke their contract, Lighthouse reacted quickly and the property was immediately re-let. It was very reassuring to know that they had the matter in good hands. They understand how important our property is for us and find it more important to find the right tenants for us than to find new tenants as quickly as possible. The transition from the old to the new tenant went very smoothly. We will certainly use their services again in the future.

Since 2014, I have rented out a property several times through Lighthouse Property Services. The contact with both Renée and Alison is very pleasant. I live abroad myself and therefore cannot meet potential tenants personally, but I trust them to find a tenant without worry.
