After having bought and sold 2 houses with the help of a real estate agent, I can say that I have gained considerable experience with this professional group. When I was tasked with selling my stepmother's house, I became wiser (and after some research) invited 3 real estate agents on one day. The lesson I learned is this: don't choose the real estate agent you get along best with (or the one with a low commission), but the real estate agent who gets along well with the house. For example, to my question that day about whether the beautiful parquet flooring on all floors could be 'thrown into the battle', I received the standard answer that the spoiled generation of today would break it out immediately. One more real estate agent to go, I no longer felt like it. Then Bob walked in. Without me having asked anything, he indicated that after sanding and white-staining the beautiful parquet flooring, this would certainly increase the market value. And so it went enthusiastically on with all sorts of creative and useful suggestions (in this case, empty the entire house: looks much more modern and less dark). He turned out to be able to listen (!) and skilled. As the only real estate agent, he also wanted to see the garages at the end. And that Bob Jacobs is a damn fine guy is irrelevant in the context of this review.
